Effective Feb. 1 2009 the City of Richmond Departmaent of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Police Athletic League is now operating it's boxing program under the direction of Coach Jerry Royster, the boxing director for the City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation. The Richmond Police Athletic League will once again be offering its Winter Indoor Lacrosse Program, kicking off with a free Lacrosse Clinic and Registration day scheduled forSaturday, December 5, 2009 from 12 noon - 1pm. PAL and SCOR are teaming up for the fourth consecutive winter, and we have grown each year.  More growth is expected this coming winter, so please sign up early online or mail your registration to our PAL office, now located at SCOR.  The clinic and the league will beheld at SCOR,located at 1385 Overbrook Road in Richmond.


The PAL Indoor Lacrosse Program is a non-instructional program for boys 8-16 and girls 13 -15, with an instructional program for six/seven-year-old boys. Although RPAL encourages anyone interested in playing the sport of lacrosse to sign up, some knowledge of lacrosse will be helpful. The season will consist of 6 games and will be played on the following days:

  • Sunday January 10,      10am-5pm
  • Sunday January 17,      10am-5pm
  • Sunday January 24,      10am-5pm
  • Sunday January 31,      11am-5pm
  • Sunday February 7,      11am-5pm
  • Sunday February 14,     11am-5pm

The various divisions will play on those Sundays at these times: 

  • U7 Instructional Boys (ages 6 - 7) -- 11am - 12 noon and 12 noon - 1pm
  • U10 Boys ("Minors" -- ages 8 - 10) -- 10am - 11am and 11am - 12 noon
  • U13 Boys ("Juniors" -- ages 11 - 13) -- 12 noon - 1pm and 1pm - 2pm
  • U16 Boys ("Seniors" -- ages 14 - 16) -- 2pm - 3pm and 3pm - 4pm
  • Girls ages 13 - 15 -- 4pm - 5pm.


The cost of the league program this year will be $110.00 (includes a reversible penny). Teams will be formed at a later date. There are no practices during the week; just show up at your scheduled time and play your game.  We need volunteers for every team to be there at each game.

Teams will consist of a maximum 14-16 players and will play 7v7 plus a goalie.  Ages 6-7 will have 30 minutes of skills training and play a 30-minute 5v5 game. Children can chose to play up if they/their family desire. Each child must have his or her own equipment: stick, helmet, shoulder pads and gloves.
